- New Madden 2009 Gameplay Videos

I love Madden football. I love the way it brings my friends and I together. I love the way it tears us apart. The thing about the Madden franchise that always bugged me was stock animations. Every player could basically do the same things as every other player. That seems to be on the agenda for change at EA this year. Several new videos released showcase what EA is calling “Locomotion” gameplay. No, that doesn’t mean Kylie Minogue is involved in motion-capture this year (I would love to see those behind the scenes videos though). What it means is players will now follow the play to the end. No more cornerbacks waiting for something to happen. No more blockers just standing around. The players will actually behave like… wait for it… real, live players. Check the videos below to see what I’m talking about.
Tell me that footage of Adrian Peterson doesn’t make you want this game today. And did you notice in the LT video how the offensive linemen moved on to secondary blocks after making their first block? These videos show so much promise. Let’s hope EA can hold up their end of the deal.

The tackle breaking in that second video looked amazing. Although why you would put together a compilation of running highlights without Brain Westbrook makes no sense to me.
A wave of relief just washed over me, and I realized that it's because this will be the first summer since 2004 that I don't have to deal with the hoards of Madden zombies at GameStop. Maybe my hatred for the franchise will subside just a little bit.
