- Haze?!
- Posted 4 months, 1 weeks ago by breathedeep
Wow, downloading the demo... and THEN proceeding to waste $9.03 renting the game at my local movie renting place...I was quite disturbed at the fact that 'Haze' was actually made into a Video game for the PS3. How dare the creators, publishers...AND everyone behind the production of this game introduce it into the market with the likes of top calibre games such as Call of Duty 4, Halo 3, and the up and coming Metal Gear Solid 4!
The game play in general was the most weirdest thing that I've ever experienced in my entire life! The AI of your enemies were extremely primitive. You could be standing right in front of them, but for them to actually start shooting at you, you'd have to pass this "invisible line" to be able to actually detect you. Besides that the game was just one big maze of back-tracking in trying to figure out where you need to get to next.
And this nectar thing that's supposed to enhance all of your senses...What a waste of time! This is by FAR one of the most stupidest...primitive games that I have ever played in my life. Microsoft should be happy that this title was cancelled for the 360!
There is simply no room for error for production companies when games that have been out for 2 and 3 quarters are still eating up the competition!
I'd give Haze a 3 out 10.
P.S. I'd love to get my $9.03 back and the gas that I spent driving to the video store as well!

Having finished haze, the only thing this game has tought me - is that I would like to shoot the audio engineers at Free Radical. If I hear the words "don't forget your promise to moreno" in that accent that sounds like Speedy Gonzalez on crack cocaine once more, I will go chernoybl on their ass ;)
In all seriousness it's a poor game in just about every area.
Poor AI which is antagonized by the game featuring, only a small handful of character models on both sides which just repeat. You get away with that on the mantle side because it is supposed to be a uniform, but when you see the same character models repeated on the 'free hand' side then it's just lazy poor design.
Even the good basis of an idea is squandered within the first three minutes when you realise that the entire game is based on nothing but black and white stereotypes. It's a great concept that fails to be executed on every level.
As for people moaning that Hazes bad reviews are just back lash from the 360 user / readership. Well all I can say is this is not a 360 or PS3 hardware issue or debate.
It's quite simple - the biggest problem with HAZE and the reason for it's diabolical press is because the game is one of the finest examples of a mediocre game, being falsely hyped by the entire industry for way too long.
Save your money for somthing else, heck.. anything else.
oh and lastly 'remember your promise to moreno'.... aghhhhhhhh
LOL! at Blockbuster it's $10 and change!!!
So therefore I heavily rely on reviews to tell me whether or not games are good!
If I'm going to play a game thats all about honeycombs and drug trips, I think I'd rather play through Banjo-Kazooie again.
Damn that is steep I feel bad for our Northern friends...
I'm right there with RIDLEY... nine bucks for a rental is steep.
RIDLEYhowmanytimesmustIpwnU: I live in Canada LOL! it really does cost that much!!! It's ridiculous... i know
It was painful to watch. So I just opted to save my cash for a rainy day. Haze, you let me down.....
9 bucks??? it costs that much money now to rent video games?!
It gets a lot better after that beginning part, almost making up for it. Not making up for it, mind you, the game still sucks, but almost.
No Coop I didn't play past that part.. I returned it back to the video store lol
Did you play past the part of the game where you work for Mantel?
I thought IGN's review of Haze was harsh, or Microsoft paid them to give it a horrible rating. I have yet to give it a play, but from reading this, I'll stay away.
