AND THATS ALL folks. Check for videos and pics later, peace!
For now, you can take a look here and see how we did on our Sony E3 predictions.
_________________________________________________________
1:03: I'm sorry, did I say footage? I meant CG, it's not in-game. Stuff exploding, people shooting, airdrops, amazingly huge battlefields, no release date. Looks awesome if they pull it off.
1:00: Teams split into 8 player squads with proven Squad Leaders. Characters grow over time and there will be a progressive campaign. Footage shown.
12:58: New game going to be announced. Andy Beaudoin of Zipper Interactive takes the stage. MAG: Massive Action Game. It's going to feature battles of up to 256 players, with everyone actually in-game.
12:55: Infamous footage looks really, really good. Spring 2009 given for a release date.
12:53: God of War 3!!!!!! Teaser Trailer is a voice over and a video of Kratos, not in-game.
12:49: Hey, Call of Duty: World at War in-game footage. Not bad.
12:46: Clip show of a bunch of developers talking about how good the PS3 is.
12:45: 80 GB PS3 will be the new SKU. September will bring the 80GB for $399.99 will have functionality of a 40 gig. HUH?! 2 USB drives and no backwards compadability? I hope he is joking.
12:42: The game sounds awesome. He explains the game, and, FINALLY, video! PC and PS3. Video looks REALLY sweet, nice graphics, cool character design.
12:40: Jim Lee talks about how much he loves working on DCUO. Not as much we want you to show some footage, Jim. He was an EQ player, and he enjoys MMOs. He starts dropping nerd trivia. We chuckle.
12:39: Sony Online Entertainment featured, apparently JUST joined Sony (huh?). DC Universe Online will be on the PS3. Jim Lee takes the stage (take THAT 00.19!). Jim is doing pushups because he is that badass.
12:37: Yay, back to the PS3 light scheme. Jack talks about Sony's dealings with Google and YouTube.
12:34: PSP 2008/2009 highlight reel isn't as impressive as the awesome stage lights that are flashing in sync to the music. Star Wars, Madden, Locco Rocco 2, NBA 09, Super Stardust Portable (how can you have a 2-stick shooter with one analog stick?!), Lego Batman, Patapon 2 will be a first-person shooter (kidding), Buzz - Master Quiz, Valkyria Chronicles all shown.
12:32: Resistance Retribution for the PSP is announced and shown off. Third person shooter, main character is wearing an overly-badass leather jacket with a Skull on the back. Spring of 09 as a release date.
12:31: Starting in October, Sony will release a new bundle: a Silver PSP ,Ratchet and Clank, 1 Gig Memory Stick, National Treasure: Book of Secrets, $199.
12:30: PSP time! Jack says that no other handheld can compete with the PSP, and says that the 13 million US PSP owners agree.
12:28: Sony pulls an Apple - PSN Movie store will be up TONIGHT.
12:27: PSP transfers explained, sizes not given. Can download it from PS3 or PC store. Jack says that this is a huge step towards bumping up the PSP and PS3 value.
12:23: Eric Didn'tcatchhisnameowitz takes the stage, shows off PSN Movie page. Looks exactly like you would expect it does. Backgrounds change depending on what studio you are selected on.
12:22: ALL content downloaded can be brought to PSP. All.
12:21: PlayStation Network Video Section will feature non-Sony content. It is open for all studios and networks, and Sony Pictures, Fox Film, MGM Studios, Lionsgate, Warner, Disney, Paramount, Turner, Funamation are already on. Pricing is about the same as XBL.
12:20: Home trailer. No matter how good it is I think it's funny that the keep trying to make it look "cool" and "hip." It always comes accross as a little creepy. The Warhawk room is shown off, I still don't know how it works.
12:19: HOME! He promises that it is worth the wait bringing games, film, video, and music together. "The Ultimate Social Experience for Gamers." He obviously hasn't heard of a website called Gamervision.com.
12:15: Talks about GT5:Prologue. Gran Turismo-TV being discussed, different car shows, footage of real races, TV shows...Ferrari TV Special teased. All available via GT5: Pro on August 1st.
12:13: Bunch of PSN Store games being shown off. New Pain level, fl0wer, Kung-Fu Physics? Pixeljunk Eden, etc.
12:11: Quest for Booty - this summer, $14.99.
12:08: What's an E3 press conf without a few surprises? Ratchet and Clank Future: Quest for Booty. Wait, this was leaked 4 months ago. Going to be short, cheap, and a sequel to Future Tools of Destruction.
12:07: Moving on to PlayStation network information. All PlayStation users will have a single sign on this fall, tying together Sony's online stuff, PSP, and PS3.
12:06: New PS2 bundle this fall will include Lego Batman and a DVD of Justice League: New Frontier for $149.
12:05: Buzz PS3 will be available this September as a downloadable title. Will have DLC.
12:01: PlayStation 2 information, over 100new PS2 titles coming out this year. Woohoo? More like meh.
12:00: October 2008 for LBP. Let's hope it makes it. Says that LBP is a "tentpole" release.
11:57: The levels in LBP are showing off graphs, and numbers. Resistance, Motorstorm, Call of Duty 3, Warhawk, Fight Night Round 3, Need for Speed Carbon, Rainbow Six Vegas, Assassin's Creed, Elder Scrolls, and Ninja Gaiden Sigma will all be rereleased this fall as $29.99 GREATEST HITS.
11:56: He has reached that moment in the conference when he needs to talk buisness, would rather show it off in LittleBigPlanet. I hope it doesn't freeze this time. The Sackboy changes into a Celtics jersey for the demo, as Jack's from Boston.
11:54: Jack's back. Mentions that historians will look back at this time in the gaming industry and say it was about community and user generated content.
11:50: There will be more huge bosses, talks up co-op and online modes. Says that the game has the largest "scale" of anything yet. Trailer plays, narrarated by a Kennedy-sounding voice actor. Shows flashes of destroyed cities and strange enemies and ships.
11:50: Ted Price from Resistance 2 takes the stage and talks up the story, which takes place in Chicago after the Chimera take over the country.
11:48 - Resistance 2 footage showing the giant monster they have been teasing. Looks awesome, huge, and very tough. Bullets don't seem to be hurting it too much as it smashes through the walls of the building, this thing is nice. It picks up the main character and throws him through a window. I am now officially excited for Resistance 2.
11:47 - -Talks up PS2, PS3, and PSP sales, says they have what no other company has: Three successful products. Calls PS3 their flagship, video begins playing. It's a Resistance 2 trailer.
11:46 - Jack is talking about sales numbers and Blu-Ray winning.
11:41 - We get a little bit of the PlayStation history. Yeah, that's nice guys, I like nostalgia too. Now let's get some news!
11:40 - We're promised a line-up full of exclusives. Uh, have you guys even heard the FFXIII news?
11:39 - Jack Tretton comes out and says that this is the most stressful event you could ever imagine. Good way to start things off.
After Nintendo's somewhat underwhelming press conference earlier today, it's time to see what Sony has to say about the future. I'm hoping for some big news, but we'll see what we get. Stay with us and keep hitting refresh.
