IGN is reporting on a Famitsu article, stating that Sony has announced Metal Gear Solid 4 has sold three million copies worldwide. When compared to the 13 million PlayStation 3 consoles around the world, MGS4 has nearly a 25% attach rate, showing exactly where the minds of many gamers were when they purchased the console. This number also approaches the GTA IV sales for the PlatStation 3, which sit at just under four million, and takes the top spot for the fastest selling title on the console to date. Take that, multiplatform games with exclusive content on other consoles!

I can't think of a better game to take that honor for the system. Metal Gear Solid 4 turned me from an admitted hater to the series to a fan, and pushed the system to heights not yet attained. While it has its problems, I am happy to see that gamers are willing to overlook them and enjoy the journey through Snake's swan song.
