Sony Firmware 2.41 is Live!
Posted About 1 month ago by Coop

Apparently free of software glitches and hardware failures, Sony has released an update to last week's PlayStation 3 firmware update. Called 2.41, the patch is now available and includes all of the previous enhancements to the system as well as one that makes it so your PS3 doesn't disappear from the material plane upon download. I haven't had a chance to test this statment, but Gamervision staff members Sarah and 00.19 have it on their system and their PS3 didn't explode, so it looks like the update did what it set out to do.

You can read my full impressions of the update, which brought an in-game XMB and Trophy support to the system, right here. I wasn’t too keen on the style they decided to go with, but welcomed 2.4 as, at the very least, a step in the right direction. Hopefully this time it doesn’t break PS3s, and we will keep you posted on any updates.

[Thanks to Qmarc80 for the tip!]

I'm still waiting for in-game private chat and in-game personal music. Perhaps it'll come with PS Home.
