Use connections to get pokémon out of rental cartridges.
Traded for a bagon on the GTS, it came with the Pokérus.
That bagon is now a Salamence and one of my mains, have two pokémon currently with transmittable pokérus, my main party infected and immune.

Truly the SNES was an awesome system and introduced us all to the beauty of unconventional RPGs. Earthbound is a pseudo-reality based role-playing game with ridiculous twists and characters. The end of the game stands in stark contrast with the play before it, and fighting the final boss was one of the most unnerving experiences of my life. For this reason, Earthbound stands high on my list.

Diablo II is probably the title most responsible for making me the primarily PC gamer I am today. Multiple build options for many different classes, free online play, and addictive item collecting are always good elements for a game, but the care that went into this game and the group mechanic is amazing. Diablo II got a lot of flack for being a sprite based game on release, but those sprites are art in their own right. Diablo II and its predecessor also both use randomized dungeons, making the game highly replayable. All in all, whether you want a 20 minute monster killing spree, or an all day item hunt, Diablo II is the game to play.

Although the SNES games were amazing for RPG historians, the Gameboy holds the honor for unleashing upon us the most popular RPG of all time: Pokemon. Through all the bad movies and cartoons, I was there crossing my fingers. I was an avid Rocketshipper, I logged 250+ hours on Red and Blue, did not cheat and had six level 100 pokemon. So far I have logged 96+ hours on Pokemon Diamond for DS. Pokemon is a unique and addictive game, that has had many other franchises try to take advantage of its concept and/or battle system. Pokemon is on my favorite games list because it is responsible for introducing many many children that may not have otherwise tried an RPG to the RPG genre.

Grandpa had a commodore 64 that he played helicopter games on and we had a lot of disks for it. My favorite disks were Space Taxi and Lode Runner. Lode Runner has since been remade a few times, but Space Taxi and its superior sounds were forever forgotten.

DDR helped me drop middle school poundage, and allowed me to eat a half gallon of ice cream per day, while remaining 110-120 lbs. My friends in high school also were highly competitive at DDR, and one actually lost 30 lbs within his first month of gameplay. Being good at DDR was also very cool when I was in college, when the game was becoming mainstream. There have been a lot of terrible mixes lately, so I have lost interest in the new games. DDR is on my fave games list because it was so addictive and good for me.

SotC marries the puzzle and action genres in a breathtaking display of digital glory. The graphics are amazing, as far as the PS2 is concerned, and the music is even better. The gameplay will have you hanging from a sword, hundreds of feet in the air, trying desparately to grab onto a clump of fur. It will have you jumping onto the wings of a gigantic bird, running across its wingspan, and holding on for dear life as the creature swan dives perilously towards the ground. It will have you facing backwards on a galloping horse while trying to shoot an arrow at a sandworm's eye. Though the controls are often disputed, the game offers boss fight after boss fight, with no crap in between. It is amazing to watch.

Magic Pengel (Playstation 2)

Magic Pengel is a terrible, awful game. Imagine you're playing an even more rudamentary version of pokemon, with embarrassing music, without monster types or different attacks. Magic Pengel tries to capitalize on the "rock, paper, scissors" battle system, but their attempt is in vain. The way you make your Pengel monster better is by beating other trainers and getting more ink. The cool part is, you use the ink you earn to actually DRAW your monster. The reason this is one of my favorites is because my pengel was a giant phallus with a rotating head that walked around on its bouncing scrotum.
And a little laugh for anyone who's actually played this game...
