Late in the night, Sony released firmware updates for the PS3 and PSP. The PSP got a basic security update while the PS3 got a more substantial package. The included update adds:

Support for text entry with simplified and traditional Chinese characters.

Games in the XMB can be sorted.
- Video options can be tweaked while watching DVDs and Blu-Ray Discs.
- Discs can now be ejected using the controller.
- No need to plug in controller during updates
