Gamer Details
Bio: It might seem strange to you, but UCLA actually gave me money to write about this stuff.
Unfortunately, then I graduated. So now I'm in gap year limbo before a grad school picks me up, continuing to write, and looking for new stories about how individuals and families engage games. If you're a gamer with siblings, I'd love to hear your stories.
I like bulgogi and my favourite colour is plaid. I use British spelling because I grew up in international forums and adopted this style as a way to blend in, and now I have trouble breaking the habit. Or I'm just wishing I was Yahtzee. Take your pick.

I've only been borrowing this copy for two YEARS. I might as well play it and get it back to the owners.

Thanks for the add /wave/
Very true about the headset! Very true!
Thanks for the add :D
Thanks for add
Well... it was... you! You're normally so credible. The whole time, I'm thinking to myself, a) this concept art looks really rudimentary and b) how did we get so totally scooped?!
Well done.
Have you ever heard of a dish best served cold?
I can't believe you just Roll'd me... and I can't believe I went for it.
I'll get you next time Gadget, NEXT TIME!
Just to say "Keep up on the Drama Llama stuff, I like venting about politics in your aticles!". So there you have it. Also, I may or may not be under the influence of alcohol right now.
hey there, how goes it?
Alright, I just couldn't make the my face/Kasumi's body thing work, but I've come up with something equally sexy, as you can see. Leisure Suit Veggie!
so i continued playing last night and when i went to join an online game, it for some reason again joined me on someone else, which was a bit annoying. I mean i really don't mind someone else joining on me, but why make them the leader...
I listened to TAoME on a cross country trip. We wanted to get all the way through the whole thing without stopping but the list of Hobo names was too much. We had to stop or else we would never be able to listen to it again.
Still, great audio book.
How would you do an MLA-style bibliographical reference to Brain Age? My handbook doesn't say! XD
That "Where am I?" thing is for an entirely seperate class, has nothing to do with what I'm looking for, but thanks for suggesting. I guess my rambling got in the way...
I just want to write about gaming's educational value, that is another form of play, something that is common for young kids. Also, like you stated in your thesis, that gaming can expand interests into other fields that may be considered more "academic." That kind of thing.
I had already set my eyes on Grand Theft Childhood. I have taken note of a few works you have listed. I only have titles, but they sound like they can be related to what I want to do. Of course, I'll do more research on them.
Thanks a lot by the way. You really don't have to do this.
Overlong comment? It's a blog post by itself! :P
I myself have just started studying at a University this semester, and, as expected, I already have to start 2000-word essays (and I've been out of school for a year; it's hard to re-adjust back to this kind of lifestyle. Also, "Where am I?" What kind of topic is that? :S). I have to hand in a thesis statement and a list of ten sources by Friday, and I still have no clue what to do. There have been a number of stories about the educational value of video games, and the matter piques my interest. I know that Gamepolitics is a good place to start, but I would really appreciate any reading material you can suggest.
Now this has just turned into a plea for help... Pathetic. Oh well. I'd still like some material though.
Just finished reading it.
I have to say, it took a graduate student to make me realise something that obvious, something that I've lived all my life. This isn't to say that your work is simple or anyhting. It's actually much deeper than I thought it could be. I learned a great deal about my friends and myself.
I guess my literature teacher was right all along. When you think you're learning about different cultures, you really are learning about your own.
If you have anything else, please, let us now. I'd love to read it.
Now I'm all introspective...
You owe me nothing. Have fun with it. I'll try to join you when I can and play around in there with ya.
love the new avi
The book is pretty crazy (in a good way). It's intended to be a discussion of writing, but ends up discussing a lot of cartographic theory. It's interesting to break down all the notions one has about maps, and how much you take that information for granted. He breaks down the ideas of direction and geometry in maps, and you're left wondering "how have i just taken for granted my entire life the idea of north?"
It's delightfully mind-blowing.
Thanks for the add!! I love reading your articles.
Also, MY favorite color is plaid, so maybe we're twins.
Hello, Miss! How have you been?
