Custom Made Chandeliers

Chandeliers, when not in a location like Versaille, Buckingham Palace or Gatsby's party pad, can be pretty damn tacky. Sorry suburbanite mom but your cookie cutter development model home does not look like a Hamptons mansion. Still, tacky can be done right. You just have to embrace it! That's exactly what Dutch company Rock and Royal does and some of the results are, dare I say it, pretty tasteful and super snazzy. Aw, you euro-trash. You can pull anything off, can't you?

Check out some of their finished products here. I'm sticking with the revolver!

Matchstick Lighter

Matches can make fire, but so can lighters. So why not combine the two with the Matchstick Lighter? While this may be too novelty of a flame source and smoking accessory, it's still a great accessory for the living room candle holder. I'm sure the pyros don't really mind either way. So, who can read Japanese? Because I most definitely can't and I have no idea what they want for it! My first born? Nah, that can't be right

Takeout Menu Organizer

Here's something that just about any office could use, including the Gamervision HQ. You no longer have to be a slave to lunch and takeout with this organizing system. Actually, you still would be a slave to lunch because you need to eat and stuff, but hey, it'll be much simpler. The Takeout Menu Organizer includes an order pad, pen, tipping guide and chart, takeout tips, favorite's number list, 9 dividers/pockets, labels and service records. Sure it seems a little...involved, but just you wait until you need to order lunch for 20 people again.

The Takeout Menu Organizer is available from Perpetual Kid for $19.99.

Octopuses Get Rubik's Cubes

Us humans favor one of our arms over the other. Springfield wouldn't have the Leftorium if we didn't. Now researchers want to see if the same goes for the more favored of the 8-legged creatures, the octopus (sorry, spider). At the Weymouth Sea Life Centre, researchers are giving octopuses Rubik's cubes to see if they prefer using one tentacle over the other 7.

“Uniquely, octopuses have more than half their nerves in their arms and have been shown to partially think with their arms,” says Claire Little, of the Weymouth Sea Life Centre. “Many animals have been shown to favour a certain arm so we will see if octopuses can be added to that list.”

According to Little, the findings could help make life in captivity more pleasant for these intelligent, (and occasionally shark eating), animals. “They are very susceptible to stress, so if they do have a favourite side to be fed on, it could reduce risk to them,” she says.

"Really Cool" Waterproof Keyboard

We are finding more and more uses for computers in more locations and professions, so it makes sense that our computers evolve to adapt to their new jobs. The "Really Cool" keyboard is both water-resistant and contaminant proof to withstand rigorous cleaning and use.

The sealed and rigid surface is ideal for industrial, marine, and medical use, as well as other applications where moisture, cleaning, and durability are a consideration. Because the Really Cool is also quieter than “standard” keyboards, they are great for applications where noise generated from “key-clicks” is a problem.

Water-resistant and contaminant proof? What this really sounds like is someone trying to prevent another tragic equation of coffee + monday morning = sad sad computer. Learn the hard way my friend. Or you know, help people save lives. That's cool too. Really cool even.

The Really Cool Keyboard is available in black or grey for $199.00.

The waterproof keyboard is too expensive for common use... it costs 2 NICE keyboards, so unless you spill things all the time it wouldn't be worth it.

However, that same technology would be amazing in a laptop, where a spill could mean damaging the entire system. Basically its $200 spill insurance. I would drop that in a second if I was buying a $2000 laptop, or better yet, if it became standard.
