- Sony and Jaffe sued!
- Posted 2 months ago by Ninjapino
Apparently, Sony Computer Entertainment America and David Jaffe are being sued by some guy named Jonathon Bissoon-Dath and a woman named Jennifer Barette-Harzog for copyright infringement. The couple claim that Jaffe stole the idea for God of War from their screenplay that was passed on by Sony.
I could see how they might come to that considering their story, 'Olympiad' is about greek mythology and GoW is full of the same thing. ZOMG!!! AMAZING!!!! I mean, it's not like these ideas haven't been around for centruies. The idea of a single champion being sent by Ares to defeat an army and given weapons by the gods is incredibly original. Also, I can see how the champion's hands being morphed into swords by Zeus is a direct copy of Krato's being given the blades of Chaos by Ares. Ok, that last paragraph is complete sarcasim, if you didn't catch it. The only standing arguement I can see is the fact that the game came out in 2005 and Jaffe said it took about three years to create. 2002 was the year Bissoon-Dath's script was rejected by Sony. That and the "bottomless valley" thing, but it's not like that is really a new idea in the first place.

Now if they would of just kicked Jaffe in the nuts I could've respected that move....gotta love the business world.....going back to my cave now.....
In that case, all sci-fi robot properties owe dinero to Rossum's Universal Robots.
Complete BS.

Okay, so I just realized that the Gamervision staff beat me to the punch on this one....
