Ignore the man behind the curtain!
Posted About 1 month ago by QMarc80

This ad made in Spain is a questionably, consfusing, ad. Many people can't comprehend it. It may look confusing to people that aren't online gamers. Whenever you thought of your apponent online you thought it was either another guy or some boy. Though this mentality hasn't changed, there is a glimmer of hope for many gamers as more girls and women join the known ranks of gaming and online gaming in general.

I believe that this is a picture of just that. I think this is a picture showing that your opponent isn't what you think they are. When you think of that person that killed you it's always that ass-hole, right? Well, this ad shows us that it can be a girl.

Simple as that.

@ Coop:

That's only if they want to be a woman. Believe me, one of my good friends in Virginia wants to be a woman.

I think it's more about fat men shedding their shell and revealing themselves as women on the inside.

I've got it....it's a PS3 Fit ad.....either that or they are coming out with a gender-bender game.....

I'm leaning towards the interpretation of: the gamer out there could be anyone, not just a fat loser. Or maybe it is a misprinted ad for LA Fitness.

PS3 also has a comparatively weak online experience to 360, and is probably the least "girl-friendly" console. I can't say that I hate them for that, but its way too late for them to go after the casual gamers, and they would need an entire campaign to justify this ad.

I don't think it means that at all. Directed to online gamers, this is still too obscure. I think they're just trying to say the playstation 3 is sexy and this is their roundabout way of doing it. Those other guys on the ground are supposed to be the 360 and wii.

I would never give Sony's marketting credit for something as clever as that.

i'm torn. on one hand i like the idea that a gamer could be anybody, not just your stereotypical overweight geek. however, what is the message they're really trying to send? that if you're lucky the person you're playing against online is a skinny chick with really prominent nipples?
