- The Bluray Disc of the Future!
- Posted About 1 month ago by QMarc80
Hello out there in Gamervision!
I was just looking into my gaming desires and found an article here that states that Pioneer has developed a blu-ray disc that can hold up to 400GB. This is rather exciting given that the technology could be read on a PS3.
That being the case they said in the article that they're unsure that the current generation of players (BD Players and PS3) would be able to read the information. This 400GB BD is sixteen layers! I'm excited for this for sure.
Hopefully this will be able to be read on a PS3 without having to upgrade hardware in any way. I'm sure that Sony doesn't intend on abandoning it's fan base just because of this new product. Most likely they'll wait to utilize it until the next console generation. 400 GIGABYTES!!!!!

You know that there are games that have cut-scenes or FMV's that you cannot skip or pause.
What if they're 10 hours long? :P
they could create a game called life. that has.....EVERYTHING in it.
Um, what are you going to fill that space with? I mean, current Bluray discs are doing the job just fine. Unless you're Hideo Kojima, that is.
5 Day Long Cutscenes!
IMAGINE THE POSSIBILITIES!
maybe that means no more hard drive loads expect for small saves in the future
sweet baby jesus!
.....could you imagin a star wars or gta or even halo for that matter mmo on a 800gb dual layered disc. i know that only PS3 can read blu-ray but i'd buy a blu-ray drive for my comp in a heart beat just for one of those games
Does that mean it will be 800gb dual layered? 1600 gb dual sided?!
