Wii Fit Workout Update 07.02.08

It’s now been six weeks since Wii Fit launched. Six weeks later, I’m in a lower weight range than I’ve been in years, my clothes fit a little better, I feel better about myself most of the time, and I’m in noticeably better shape—the best shape I’ve been in since I was really young, actually. I should be satisfied, but I’m not quite there yet. I just want to lose five more pounds, or at least tone my body a little more. Unfortunately, the last few pounds are being far more stubborn than the first were.

The good news is that maintaining my lower weight has not been a problem thus far. I still do Wii Fit six days a week, 35 minutes a day. However, it appears that I am in a dreaded weight loss plateau, which can be incredibly frustrating. Part of the problem may be doing the same workout every day, so I think it’s time to shake it up. The only problem is, I’m already doing all of the most advanced aerobic exercises, so I’m not even sure what else to do—probably adding more strength and yoga workouts would be a good idea, so I will start doing that.

Also, Wii Fit has been continuing to give me the typical Nintendo guilt trip. Not only do I get a message when I miss one day of working out, but I got this one the other day as well:



What the hell? I’m just here to get fit, balance board. Lay off the guilt trips.

I may sound overly negative today, but I’m just a little bummed that I’ve stopped losing weight consistently. After this week, I’ll be switching to monthly updates; hopefully Wii Fit will be a little more eventful when it’s not following my progress week to week. With all the swimming, bike riding, and beach volleyball I plan on doing on my upcoming vacation, maybe I’ll have finally shed those last few pounds once and for all. Check back next month to find out. Also, I've got to know: is anyone else still doing Wii Fit, or am I the only one?
