- Product Review - Samsung LCD HDTV
- Posted 3 months, 2 weeks ago by Sean
If you're a gamer (and why would you be reading this if you weren't?) chances are you are playing your games on a television. And you're probably running your sound through a stereo system. Amps, receivers, speakers, and other various pieces of home electronics are an integral part of almost everyone's gaming experience. But the fact is that, for the most part, we here at Gamervision are gaming nerds; hence we aren't the world's most reliable sources to tell you the best (or worst) electronics for your gaming rig.
Fortunately, we happen to be friends with the people who are the world's most reliable source for home entertainment news. So beginning today, we will be bringing you product reviews from our very good friends over at Home Entertainment magazine.
Today's review, from writer Geoffrey Morrison, is for the Samsung LN-46A750 LCD HDTV.
Touch of Red, Touch of BlackI have always questioned the dichromatic pallet of nearly all consumer electronics. When I voice this question, I am always told that consumers only want black or silver products. Personally, I don't get it. But I'm also certainly not one to ask about style. So when Samsung previewed their "Touch of Color" idea, seemed like a perfect compromise.
Touch of Color is exactly what the design of this LCD has; a just barely noticeable tint of red along the edge of the bezel. I think it looks classy and stylish, though keep in mind I still have t-shirts I wore in high school. If there is a little light behind the TV, it really pops. On Samsung's website the color is really accentuated. In real life it is a lot more subtle, and that's why it works.

This is GREAT! Product reviews for GAMERS....
I have been splitting hairs over which LCD to buy, this has made up my mind...
Now all I need to do is knock over a few 7-11's and I'm there!
that is one sexy tv!
Sleek and sexy! Just like I like my polygonal vixens!
@makyo When I bought mine and I asked about the red, they said that initially 5 colors were previewed with test groups and apparently the red was the hands down favorite amongst everyone, so that's all they made.
But yeah its a sweet-ass screen and if i had to choose between watching it and ever interacting with another human again....well let's just say the popcorn is already made.
Sexy. I'd be sold on it with a matte screen.
oh man, that's a sharp-looking tv. if I didn't already have an HDTV, I would probably be drooling over this.
I love my Samsung. They make really great HDTV's. I do agree with him about the sound it makes when you turn it on, but I kinda like it.
Color color TV's How cool
interesting color choice. why a red tint and not another color? at some point could the color be interchangeable or customizable?
i mean, it would match MY living room (hint, hint) but what if red was an interior-design faux pas? you know we gamers are SO style conscious :)
