- Jack Thompson Pays a Hefty Fine
- Posted About 1 month ago by Sean

Jack Thompson has lost his license to practice law in the state of Florida. You knew that, you've already laughed about it. Remember that part of his being disbarred was a huge fine? Of course you do, you laughed at that part too! Well, the jokes just keep on coming, as GamePolitics is reporting that Jack has ponied up the fine, to a tune in excess of $42,000 ($42,525.27 to be exact...). The money is for the cost to prosecute Jack's crazy litigious self.
How do we know that Jack has paid his dues, so to speak? Well, as with all things Jack related, it's right from his big fat the horse's mouth. He sent the following e-mail, not only to the judge he addressed it to, but also to the varied and sundry outlets he normally CC's on every piece of mail he sends, including GamePolitics:
Dear Chief Justice Quince:
Please advise today what you and the Court have done with my check for $42,525.27 that was sent you on November 6 to be held in trust by the Supreme Court.
I find today, in talking with my bank, that the check has not been negotiated. I’m not paying any interest on this amount. You all had it from me on the date it was due.
Regards, Jack Thompson
Wow, not only has the court gotten the check, they haven't cleared it yet! I wonder if they're worried that Jack's checks are as reliable as his testimony as a games expert. Poor Jack- and right at the holidays too.
