- Don King’s Prizefighter To Utilize Wii Balance Board
- Posted 8 months, 3 weeks ago by Veggie Jackson
Here is one of the world’s single greatest quotes ever, courtesy of Mr. Don King:
“I can't believe that having said what I said was interpreted as having been what I said when I said it, because I said it where I said it, when I said it, and who I said it to.”
Brilliant. Less poignant, but containing more solid information is this quote, by executive producer of Don King’s Prizefighter, Matthew Seymour:
“in addition to that, we're bringing Wii Fit and the Balance Board - you'll be able to use those for training. So stuff like the jump rope game we have, you can be on the Balance Board and have the Wii Remote in your back pocket.”
This comes from an interview with CVG n which the producer explains why Prizefighter will stand head and shoulders above its competition. Namely, whatever boxing games EA puts out. The interview is full of head-first optimism about Prizefighter and Don King, and backhanded compliments towards EA. The most interesting part of the interview is the reveal that the Wii version of DKP will include support for the Wii Balance Board.
Training mini-games like jumping rope seem like the perfect launch pad for the new Wii accessory, so the news isn’t terribly surprising. It could definitely help Prizefighter find an audience, as anyone who spends $90 on the balance board is most likely going to want to get the most out of it, and simulated boxing training sounds like one of the best implementations we’ve heard of.

It would be interesting to use the Wii balance board for a boxing title, we're so used to sitting on our asses while we box. It also sounds like it would be an invigorating workout.....
