- E3 08: Themes On The New Xbox Experience
- Posted 5 months, 3 weeks ago by Veggie Jackson
On his blog, Larry Hryb, Microsoft’s ubiquitous “Major Nelson,” has posted some pictures of what Xbox Live themes might look like on the new “Xbox experience.” Take a look:

Notice that he is saying that this is what the themes “could” look like, not what they “will” look like, so this is speculative. But seriously, why would he post mock-ups? This isn’t some nobody blogger posting these things, this is the big man himself, Major Nelson, speaking on behalf the BIG MAN himself, Microsoft. Besides, how else would they implement the themes into this new interface?
We'll get some hands on time with the nw interface tomorrow, so we'll see if we can squeeze a confirmation out of whoever's manning the booth. If not, stay tuned for the inevitable announcement that this “is” what themes will look like. It shouldn’t be long.

I don't mind the old dashboard but this one is fine too. I think you should be able to use either, making them like Winamp skins, classic or modern. I'm also over the Mii craze and would rather just leave that with the Wii, so no thanks on the avatars. Gamerpics are fine.
looking sleak
I'll be the devil's advocate here: was this a wanted or needed change? I mean, sure, it looks great, but is this really that big of a deal?
I don't know I'm personally a bit upset that I'll have to create an avatar and use it instead of having my usual gamer picture. Unless you can use your gamer pic and an avatar then that would be ok.......
It's just a new theme, that's not like, a total conversion or anyting, right?
