Something about XBL that just irks me
Posted 4 months, 3 weeks ago by Zantagor

Ok, yesterday I just realized that Microsoft is pretty much giving the shaft to us Canadian citizens when it comes to fees.

why is it that everything on XBL is 5$ more expensive?

Phantasy Star Online license fee is 15$ instead of 10$

2000 MS Points are 30$ instead of 25$.

Is there ANY logical reasons to this, aside Microsoft being behind the times by 3 years or something?

Last time I checked, the canadian dollar was worth 1.02 US dollars ;/

That's just lame. Sounds like Microsoft is way behind the times.
And that 'international transaction fee' thing just cracked me up hardcore

Zantagor: I feel your pain. This summer when I go to Vegas for my vacation, I'm picking up a nice juicy 4,000 point card ($50) and making myself a fake US account to use it with.

I really need to come up with a sarcasm font.

I'm pretty sure he was kidding about the shipping thing. My guess is it has something to do with customs or tariffs or something.

Shipping? For Digital stuff? I don't get it. And when I said 2000 points for 30$, I meant directly from the marketplace, so where's the shipping there?

Shipping. Don't question it, just accept it. Shipping.

Also, PSN adjusted their price, but not Microsoft :P

doubt it, when I buy something in the US, my credit card only bills me around 0.5 to 1 $ for the currency change fee...

While on XBL the price are listed as Canadian Dollars, so there shouldn't be a fee for that. Still no idea why Microsoft does that.

Their games are priced equals in both canada and the US.... if a game is 40$ in the US, it's 40$ here. So why isn't XBL like that too, doesn't make much sense to me.
