APBA Baseball for Windows Broadcast Blast 1997 was originally released in 1995 and upgraded with this 1997 version -- the computer game version of the text-based board game from APBA Game Company, Inc.. It is a text-based game with 256-color SVGA background screens with every major league park available and the voice of Detroit Tiger broadcaster, Ernie Harwell, to bring you the action in three varying levels of description.
Level of play is entirely up to you as you can manage full seasons, play thousands of games, one at a time or quickly using fast mode, create your own leagues, or replay every real baseball season ever played since 1876. You can draft teams, manipulate rosters, make farm moves, choose from over 2000 reports and unlimited leader boards from the StatMaster, choose from dozens of computer managers primed for various eras of history to play against or manage your teams.
The Advanced Injury Manager (AIM) tracks players who are bushed, rested, ready, worn-out, or itchy. Set lineups and rotations or let AIM do it for you. Setup a game, turn off the lights and monitor and listen to Harwell broadcast the game play-by-play, or with light or heavy commentary with a neutral spin or favoritism for the team you choose. ~ Michael L.
