Satisfy your need for Asian puzzlery with Merscom's Buku Blast, a set of three discs containing Buku Sudoku, Buku Kakuro, and Buku Mahjongg.
Played on a 9x9 grid, the object of Sudoku is to fill the squares so that each row and column contains the numerals one through nine with none repeated. Kakuro is set up like a crossword puzzle, and gamers must fill in the blanks with numbers 1-9 using number clues. In Mahjongg, gameplay requires matching pairs of tiles until the board is cleared or no matches remain.
All three games feature a "Create Your Own" option for the rendering of countless puzzles and layouts, and Buku Mahjongg includes themed boards such as "Ancient Japan," "Underwater Paradise," and "Tropical Rainforest." For beginners, the compilation has tutorials for each game and a hint function. When players are uncertain about the placement of a numeral in Buku Kakuro, numbers can be entered with either pencil or pen. If gamers can't sit and enjoy a round of Buku Kakuro or Buku Sudoku, either game can be saved, printed, or e-mailed. Buku Blast is also bilingual and will display puzzles in English or Spanish. ~ Gracie Leach, All Game Guide
