After co-founding MicroProse Software with Bill Stealey, the first game Sid Meier created is Chopper Rescue for the Atari 800. In Chopper Rescue players fly a helicopter through underground labyrinths while attempting to rescue captives. To survive, pilots must work fast to avoid running out of fuel, dodge walls, and blast enemy defenses using their chopper's missiles and bombs.

Chopper Rescue features three levels of difficulty and supports up to four players. During mutliplayer games users can choose to fly solo missions where players alternate turns or cooperate in team missions. When teaming up, the first joystick controls the chopper's flight while the second joystick controls the chopper's weapons. ~ Jonathan Sutyak, All Game Guide
