DroneZ is a futuristic shooter inspired by 1983's coin-op game Discs of Tron. Taking place in a computer-generated realm called V-Space, players streak across virtual worlds atop a glowing platform that hovers in the air. Three characters are available to choose from, including Sidd, Eva, or a robot named C1. The object is to free mankind from the iron grip of V-Space, which controls every decision and thought in the real world. As one of three hackers able to tap into V-Space, players must find a way to stop the network no matter what the cost.
Players must advance through all nine sections of V-Space, each spanning three levels apiece and a total of 200 rooms. Standing in the way are various DroneZ, artificial creatures created by V-Space to protect itself against invaders. To combat these cyber enemies, each character can fire blasts of energy and deflect incoming shots by raising a shield. Winning a battle involves knocking rivals off their platforms. At certain points during the game, players can explore the realm by jumping across different platforms while avoiding laser defenses and other hazards. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide
