Making its debut at the {~2003 Classic Gaming Expo}, the previously unreleased Entity was originally intended to be published by 20th Century Fox. Players must find a way to guide a swirling object (called the Entity) through the narrow openings of as many barriers as possible to keep it away from a hazardous vat of liquid helium. The vertically scrolling playfield consists of three horizontal lines that move from top to bottom as players quickly trap the Entity so it safely passes through each line's gap. If a player misses the opening, the Entity will be knocked backwards until it eventually falls to its demise. Adding to the challenge is the Entity's unruly behavior, which must be held in check to succeed.
The joystick controls two vertical walls used to push the Entity toward each barrier's opening. Once safely through, the Entity will become irritated, turning from white to red and moving at a faster rate of speed. To help tame the wild beast, players can give it a small dose of liquid coolant by pressing the joystick's red button. Doing so will temporarily slow the creature down and make it easier to trap. The goal is to keep the Entity as close to the top of the screen as possible. Each fall into the vat along the bottom of the screen takes away a portion of the player's energy meter until there is none left. Eight game variants alter the Entity's speed as well as its visibility. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide
