Fight Night is an action oriented game of boxing for one or two players. The game features twelve different computer opponents with varying strengths and weaknesses. These fighters are also used by the players in head-to-head competition.
There are four different play modes. Training and Sparring modes allow the players to hone their skills. The Main Event mode is a series of eleven fights against increasingly powerful opponents. The Tournament mode puts the players in the role of promoters who match up their fighters for a series of round robin fights.
The boxers are only able to move forward or back straight across the ring. Players may use one of six different boxing moves during a fight. The moves include jabs, body blows, fakes and guards. The fights are three rounds of three minutes each. A fight can be won by knockout or based on scoring. ~ Joseph Scoleri III, All Game Guide
