In GunSmoke, players scroll through towns as the sheriff, armed with pistols, shooting down wanted men, each with their own weapon skill and corresponding reward. As you progress through the multiple cities, the streets are littered with barrels that hold power-ups. Power-ups can affect your character in a variety of ways, like increasing your walking pace or extending the power and range of your guns. One of the unique aspects of the game lies in the control mechanism. It's straightforward enough to control your sheriff with the joystick. The guns, however, are controlled with three buttons, each of which aim the gun in a different direction: northwest, dead ahead, and northeast. ~ Paul Biondich, All Game Guide
