Welcome to the world of Ignatius Mortimer Meen, also known as I.M. Meen. He's brought you there via a book he gave you at the library, and now, armed at first only with a copy of Writewell's Book of Better Grammar, you must find your way through 36 levels of obnoxious beasts and fiendish grammar lessons before defeating I.M. himself and winning your freedom.

Described by Electronic Entertainment magazine as "Doom Jr. ... Good and good for you," I.M. Meen offers lessons in grammar, spelling and punctuation in the guise of a first-person shoot-em-up modelled after the granddaddy of the genre, Doom. Using items found and stored in the main character's backpack (there are two main characters to choose from - Scott and Katie), the player must overcome monsters by using good old-fashioned arcade game reflexes and find their way out of each level by correcting I.M. Meen's poor grammar and spelling on the scrolls found on the doors to cells which hold other children also trapped by I.M..

With 36 levels, over 24 bad guys, more than 150 scrolls to solve, multiple magic items to pick up along the way, puzzles to solve, and three levels of difficulty for gameplay and reading skill, there is plenty in I.M. Meen to keep any kid busy for hours, unaware that while they're blasting the beasties they're also learning how to be better readers and writers. ~ Brad Cook, All Game Guide
