Description taken from Atari ST version of this game

As the title indicates, the 18-hole course in this game features legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus' favorite holes of Major Championship Golf, hand picked by the Golden Bear himself. Also included are the Castle Pines Golf Club and the Golf Club at Desert Mountain, both of which are based on courses that where designed by Jack Nicklaus.

Jack Nicklaus' Greatest 18 Holes of Major Championship Golf lets you play against a computerized version of Jack Nicklaus and against eight fictional characters, each of whom has his or her own strengths and weaknesses. All three courses are riddled with potential hazards, such as trees, water, traps, roughs, and cart paths. Wind also plays a strategic role in how hard and in what direction you will want to hit the ball. Prior to playing an actual game of golf, you can practice specific holes, hit balls on the driving range or hone your stroke on the practice green.

Options and features in this game include club selection, hooking, slicing, a break indicator (for judging greens), statistics, and a power bar for use in controlling your distance. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide
