Hosted by Alex Trebek (via digitized graphics and sound), Jeopardy! for the Super NES features more than 3,500 all-new questions in 700 plus categories. You and up to two friends can take part in this game of trivia. Your brain will be challenged with questions about religion, art, sports, history, animals, science, poetry and other diverse topics.
The gameboard in Jeopardy! is a six-by-five grouping of squares, each space containing a dollar amount and a hidden question. A subject is listed at the top of each row of squares. The higher the dollar amount for a space, the harder the question.
Contestants get a chance to compete by pressing a buzzer in a timely manner. If it is already your turn or you are the first to buzz in, you must produce your answer (in the form of a question) by using the gamepad to select letters and/or numbers from a board. If the square you choose contains a Daily Double, you can earn bonus money by betting on yourself to answer the question correctly.
After one round of play, Double Jeopardy! kicks in. Gameplay stays basically the same, but the categories change and dollar amounts double. When this round is complete, it's time for Final Jeopardy!, which has players gambling on whether or not they know the answer to one question. If you have a negative dollar amount showing when it's time for Final Jeopardy!, you can't participate.
