Mario Teaches Typing 2 is for kids 6 to 101. It teaches touch-typing with the help of Mario, his brother Luigi, and Princess Toadstool.
There are four sections to the program. The first, the Beginner or Basic level, teaches the rows of keys on the keyboard, starting with the home row. The Intermediate Level has players typing words, and the Advanced level has players typing whole sentences.
The game continues until players reach the advanced setting and can type 50 words a minute. You are then a "Mario Graduate." While the Windows version of this game allows you to print out certificates of your achievements, you cannot in the Macintosh version.
Other features of the game include: Colorful interface and animations to you through typing lessons; the ability to create your own tutorial with the customized lesson editor; a status bar that constantly keeps you updated on your performance; special surprise victory screens when you reach word-per-minute goals; printable certificates upon completion of each level; teaches proper posture and other important typing tips and Mario's Expert Express level provides the chance to practice keyboard skills under Mario's private tutelage. ~ Lisa Karen Savignano, All Game Guide
