Maxxis Ultimate ATV is a stunt-filled racing title featuring a selection of 25 authentic all-terrain vehicles from such manufacturers as Honda, Kawasaki, Bombardier, and more. A total of 20 off-road courses are available to drive across, with exotic real-world locales, including Easter Island, the Great Wall of China, Mount Fuji, the Egyptian pyramids, Tahiti, and more. Each course is filled with interactive elements and obstacles to avoid in the form of trees, houses, rocks, bales of hay, moguls, and more. Players can catch air by hitting jumps and launching off hills, cliffs, or walls in the name of fun.

Five modes of play include Motocross, Cross Country, Single Race, Time Attack, and Multiplayer. Motocross offers a closed course where players perform stunts for points. Cross Country features open terrain as players try to unlock 20 additional ATVs by achieving a top finish. Single Race is one event on a choice of courses and racing conditions, while Time Attack involves zipping through each course as quickly as possible. Up to six players can compete online via Xbox Live, or up to four can race simultaneously on a split screen.
