Artech Studios' puts a new spin (or dice roll) on the time-honored traditional strategy and luck board game Monopoly, featuring boards and landmarks representing nine cities throughout the United States and one in Canada, as well as the classic Monopoly board. Cities include Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto, and Washington, D.C., and display properties indigenous to each.
Up to six human players can play on one computer or over a LAN or the Internet, or one person can choose to play against up to five computer-controlled players with skill levels individually set at First-Time Buyer, Entrepreneur, or Tycoon strength. Choose from eleven animated tokens, short or regular length games, and more than 20 customizable rules. Options include number of houses or hotels available, initial cash, Free Parking jackpot, salary for passing Go, houses required per hotel, maximum turns in jail, jail fee, auction time delays, income and luxury tax rates, build rules, and more.
The manual contains a complete set of official Monopoly rules, a detailed list of gameplay options, and multiplayer instructions. The board display can be configured from several angles ranging from a top-down viewpoint to 3D token movement. Each computer-controlled player has a unique voiceover depending on which token is used, as well as specific phrases tied to each city.
