You are a ninja, skilled in the way of the warrior. Your mission is to fight your way up the levels of a temple building, killing everyone in sight. You're vastly outnumbered but, you're a ninja -- thus, you will succeed!
Ninja is a 2D, side scrolling fighting game where you can walk either left or right, as well as jump. When you walk past the edge of the screen, the action switches to another background. As you make your way up the levels of the temple, you encounter various types of opposition ranging from thugs to enemy ninjas.
Fortunately, you're prepared. Armed with your ninja sword, you can also pick up several different types of throwing weapons off the ground. Once thrown, they drop down and can be picked up and thrown again. But, your opponents can also pick up throwing weapons as part of their arsenal, so you must use them wisely. To increase you score and health level, you need to collect pagodas you come across during gameplay.
Movement is handled through the numeric keypad while attacks can be pulled off by holding down the spacebar while pressing a key on the numeric keypad. Different keypad keys correspond to different attacks. For example, forward is a kick while back throws any weapons you've picked up.
Both you and your enemies have health bars that decrease when you get hit by attacks. If you fully deplete an opponent's health bar, he goes down but, if they deplete yours, the game is over. ~ Kyle Knight, All Game Guide
