Puzzle City combines the block-dropping action of a game like Tetris with a SimCity-like city-building mechanic, putting gamers in the role of a construction supervisor as they try to build 48 different thriving communities. Players are presented with a series of zoned grids, viewed from a top-down perspective, and a conveyor belt full of blocks that turn into a variety of buildings once placed. Some of the blocks are color-coded and can only be placed in specific grids, but others can be placed anywhere they fit. Each level comes with different completion goals, and players can help themselves reach those goals by using power-ups to destroy excess buildings, break large construction pieces into more manageable sizes, or alter the color of particular blocks. The building sites vary wildly, from snowy mountains, to barren deserts, to the lunar surface, and gamers can try to fill them all in "Story" mode or go at their own pace in "Untimed" mode. ~ Christopher Brown, All Game Guide
