In July 1999, Sega and Hollywood Video gave players the chance to rent the Dreamcast nearly two months before it would be released to retail stores. The first game available under this deal was Sonic Adventure: Limited Edition, a full version of the game that fixed some of the bugs and camera problems of the Japanese version but was missing several of the options included in the final U.S. release. Essentially, this was a preview meant to give gamers a taste of what they could expect on 9/9/99. ~ Skyler Miller, All Game Guide
