This game is a sequel to the game Enchanter, also by Infocom.

After your defeat of the evil sorceror in Enchanter, you have continued your studies of magic. You wake from a series of bad dreams to find that you have been left alone in the guild hall to watch it while the other apprentices and masters go to town to buy supplies.

Only, something is wrong. Your uncle, the great enchanter Belboz, seems to be missing. You search the guildhall for him to no avail. Slowly, you come to the conclusion that powerful magic has stolen him away, and it is up to you to rescue him.

You cast a spell that should bring you to him, but when you arrive at your destination, Belboz is nowhere to be seen. Surely, some great and powerful magic has thrown you off course.
