Tetris is a falling-block style puzzle game. Pieces composed of four blocks arranged in different patterns fall from the top of the screen. Your job is to fit those blocks together to make unbroken lines. When you succeed, the line vanishes and the blocks on top drop down to take its place.
The blocks themselves can be manipulated using the keyboard, shifting them left or right or turning them by ninety degrees to fill any open spaces.
Russian themed music and graphics help enliven the game, and you can choose to start play at any of ten levels or five heights. The heights feature inserts random blocks up to the level of the height you have chosen.
Play is fast and furious, especially at higher levels, and the music changes to reflect this, from slow and soothing to fast-paced and almost manic. ~ Lisa Karen Savignano, All Game Guide
