V-Rally Edition 99 for Nintendo 64 offers more than 40 tracks in eight distinct regions around the world. Choose one of 11 officially licensed, customizable rally cars, from a Mitsubishi Lancer and Subaru Impreza to a Toyota Corolla and Ford Escort, as you prepare to race through sand, snow, asphalt, and dirt in variable weather and times of day. Each course features a combination of hairpin turns, hills, rocks, and more across three modes of play: Championship, Arcade, and Time Trial.

"Championship" involves finishing within the top times to advance to the next area, "Arcade" lets you race vehicles with more forgiving controls and handling, and "Time Trial" has you perfecting your top speed through each course. Choose from a perspective set directly behind the car or a first-person viewpoint while racing multiple laps in the outdoor environments. Featured locales include Indonesia, Corsica, New Zealand, the Alps, England, Spain, Africa, and Sweden.
