Wheel of Fortune: Super Deluxe/Jeopardy! Super Deluxe is a retail package containing home computer versions of the two mainstay television game shows, originally released separately in 2009. The Super Deluxe version of Wheel of Fortune! features over 2,500 phrase-based puzzles, to be solved following the rules of the popular TV show. Wheel of Fortune is a word game in which players take turns guessing letters to gradually reveal a hidden phrase. The amount of money awarded for solving the puzzles depends on the values of the letters the player correctly guesses, determined by spinning a large, colorful wheel. The contestant with the most money after several rounds of play wins the game, and earns the opportunity to try for additional prizes in a bonus round. This interactive edition of Wheel of Fortune supports both single-player and multiplayer games. The show's famous television hosts are not featured in the game, but players can customize their contestant characters.
The Super Deluxe version of Jeopardy! features over 3,500 answer-and-question trivia clues. In Jeopardy, well-phrased trivia clue "answers" are selected from a game board. The first contestant to "ring in" has the opportunity to give a response, which must be in the form of a question. Each clue on the board has a dollar amount. With a correct response, that amount is added that amount to the player's total, but an incorrect response results in the money being deducted from the player's bank. The games are broken into three rounds: "Jeopardy," "Double Jeopardy," and then "Final Jeopardy," with a single, often more difficult answer, for which players must come up with a correct question before time runs out. Single players compete against computer-controlled contestants. Unlike the television show. the game does not feature a celebrity host, and contestants select their responses from multiple-choice lists, to avoid typographical mistakes and facilitate the flow of play. ~ T.J.
