Wimzie's House: Play Along with Wimzie is based on the top ten PBS children's program Wimzie's House, the first public television show set in a home child care environment.
Wimzie's House emphasizes pro-social themes surrounding issues such as friendship, generosity, loneliness, jealousy, diversity and sibling rivalry. Like the series, the CD-ROM features the puppet/characters that preschoolers have come to know, including Wimzie, Loulou, Bo, Horace, Jonas, Yaya, Graziella and Rousso.
The software contains five games that are designed to develop important thinking and social skills. Preschoolers are challenged to develop memory and logical thinking skills. They are also taught to identify feelings, both their own and those of others.
Of the five games included in Wimzie's House, Rousso's Memory Challenge is a memory exercise in which children must identify and link together various objects while The Bickering Bunch is a fast-paced game where children must identify different types of emotions.
Other games include Wimzie's Family Portrait, in which children must identify personality traits of Wimzie's gang, The Book of Feelings, a quiet game in that teaches children to recognize emotions from facial clues, and Bo's Puzzles, picture puzzle game with photos of the gang.
Wimzie's House: Play Along with Wimzie also offers three levels of difficulty for all five games. ~ Tara Hernandez, All Game Guide
