From Epyx, publishers of various olympic games such as Summer Games and Winter Games, comes World Games. World Games contains events that each take place in a different country, hence the title. Events include: weightlifting (Russia), barrel jumping (Germany), cliff diving (Mexico), slalom skiing (France), log rolling (Canada), bull riding (United States), caber toss (Scotland), and sumo wrestling (Japan). Options available are: compete in all events, compete in some events, compete in one event, practice one event, and view world records.
Weightlifting contains two competitions, the "snatch" and the "clean and jerk." Barrel jumping takes place on the ice where players choose a number of barrels, build up as much speed as they can, and attempt to clear the barrels. Cliff diving requires players to clear the jagged rock during a 118-foot decent. Slalom skiing is an event where a skiier races against a clock while making sharp turns around flags. Log rolling is a test of balance as you stand on a floating log and begin walking for as long as you can. During bull riding a player must stay on a bull for eight seconds. Caber toss has competitors attempting to throw a 19 foot long tree trunk as far as they can. Sumo wrestling pits two large men against each other in a clay-surfaced ring. ~ Jonathan Sutyak, All Game Guide
