No longer hindered by 2D gameplay, the Worms video game series has been injected with an additional dimension by video game developer Team 17. Worms 3D was designed to maintain the classic gameplay from older versions, while getting and upgrade to a 3D environment. Featuring a turn-based style of fighting, the game requires the player to accurately judge the trajectory and strength of their shots in order to inflict the most damage upon their enemies.

Teams of worms battle one another using a variety of destructive weapons such as grenades, dynamite, bazookas, and sheep. In addition to these weapons, brand new ones were designed in conjunction with the new graphics engine to provide a 3D worm-busting experience.
