Strategy
Genre
Strategy games emphasize planning and management over direct control of the action. Players are often cast in a role such as a general, mayor, or monarch, where their decisions project drastic, long-term effects. Some strategy games accentuate conflict, challenging players to guide an army to victory, while others focus on development, calling on players to manage a growing city or business. Many strategy games feature elements of both construction and combat.
