  • What is an avatar image?

    An avatar image is your personal representation throughout Gamervision. It is the picture that people see when you leave comments, join groups, or when they visit your page.

  • Why is my avatar image distorted?

    details

    This occurs when the image you upload doesn't have equal sides. Try to pick and image with dimensions of 64 x 64 or greater. Again, for best results, a square image recommended.

  • What is a profile image?

    Your profile image is the picture that lives on your personal homepage. This is the picture that Gamervision hosts for you. When people come and view your page, your profile image is displayed along with your avatar, location, contact points, bio information, and your lists.

  • What are the "lists" on my profile and group pages?

    Lists let you tell everyone what you favorite things are. Rank your favorite games, or your least favorite. Let people know what your favorite movies, music, books, food, jobs you have had or days of the week. Then leave a description of each item to let people really know why it made your list. And just incase you didn't notice, list items are HTML capable! Make a list item a link to another group, profile or webpage! You can even add pictures and video to the descriptions! With a little HTML embeding of course.

  • What is the bar across the top of the page?

    This is the Gamervision launchpad. Your launchpad follows you to every page of the site. It holds your avatar image, a link to your personal page, a button that shows all your friends and groups (displayed 6 of each at a time), the number of new friend requests you have and the last five activities to occur in your network of gamer contacts. When you receive new friend requests, they will show up in another frame of your launchpad, rather than needing to be loaded on a separate page. The same is true with your friends and groups in the launchpad- no need to load an entire page, just pull down the frame. The launchpad is also the place you can create new groups, log out of Gamervision (although why would you want to do that?!) And if you don't like the look of your launchpad, simply click the "Customize" button and choose a new skin from the dozen varied choices!

  • Where can I post HTML?

    You can post HTML code in personal comments, personal bio information, lists, and the same areas in groups. Embed pictures, videos and music players. Sorry, but java is not allowed. If you put some in, the system will strip it out.

  • Where can I learn HTML?

    details

    There is a really great site that is an incremental HTML tutorial. It tells you how to do various things with HTML, and gives you an area to test what you've learned. Click here to learn some basic coding!
