Ball and Paddle

Style

Ball and paddle games are defined as much by their control schemes as by their style of play. Typically, players use a rotary knob to control sort of paddle object that moves back and forth on a single axis. The bearing and speed of the paddle's movement relates directly to the rotation of the knob, for a sense of immediately responsive control. In most ball and paddle games, the paddle serves as a blocker, which must be moved to repel (or catch) objects that approach with increasing speed and number as the game progresses.
