Now that everyone’s had a little time with their copy of Madden 09, we figured we’d spill a few more tidbits about the Gamervision Madden League. We’re going to have sign-ups open until September 1st. No matter what system you end up playing on, the league is going to be fantasy drafted. Since EA made the decision to have online leagues be auto-drafted, you don’t have to worry about being home at any particular time to draft, it’ll be done by your system. All you do have to worry about is ranking your players. We’ll get to that after the leagues are set on September 2nd. Sign-ups are still ongoing, and now all you have to do is join the GV Madden League group to sign up. Just post a comment about which system you’re going to play on, and you’re all set.

The GV Madden League group is going to be the place to talk up your victories, set up times to play, and just talk about football with other fans of the game. One of the best things about the online leagues is the open schedule. You don’t have to worry about being at home at one particular time to make your game, you decide when you want to play. If you want to play four games in one day, no problem. If you want to play once a week, that’s no problem either. We’re hoping to set the league up for everyone to play one another twice. The playoffs will begin as soon as everyone’s finished their regular season. It’d be nice if we could organize it so nobody played more than three games in a week so nobody gets too far ahead, or complicates trades, but we’ll vote on that in a few weeks.

The next item on the agenda I’m sure you’re all curious about are prizes. The winner of the GV Madden League will get a custom crafted trophy proclaiming their gridiron greatness. Winners will also get some freakin’ sweet Gamervision swag, and the right to brag to everyone everywhere that you’re the best around, and nothing is gonna ever keep you down. We do have another announcement coming concerning GV TV, but we’re keeping it under wraps for just another few days. I promise it’ll be worth your while.
