Dogs And Cats Living Together... Mass Hysteria!

by 00.19

As October draws near, the hype-containment unit for the upcoming Ghostbusters video game is starting to crack open. IGN released some screenshots of the PC version, as well as detailing their playthrough of a guided demo. You can find the screens below, and while they look good, we knew how good the game was going to look already. And honestly, how many different ways can you show us the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man before we start to get tired of him? The shots are probably pretty close to what the 360 and PS3 game will end up looking like, and that’s all well and good, but when are we going to see some real live footage? Even IGN’s guided demo is sans video, and while I’m sure their descriptions are accurate, what they say is pretty boring. What really ticked me off was learning there’s no multiplayer available.

…the game puts you in control of a new Ghostbusters recruit who fights alongside mainstays like Egon Spengler and Ray Stantz. Though you can't actually control the more famous member of the team as you go through missions…

My enthusiasm for this title is waning. I love the Ghostbusters, and all they represent, but to put out a game where there’s no co-op is insulting to fans. And before all you die-hards who want this to be fantastic start griping about how I don’t understand the need for proper story-telling, just think for one second about how much more fun this would be to play through with a friend who loved the source material as much as you did. The first Rainbow Six Vegas allowed for co-op mission play without the story, and that was really enjoyable, so why can’t I get that here? Stay tuned to see if there’s any good news about this title coming at E3, which Gamervision will be covering live.

Its kinda funny, my wifes boss looks like Vigo the Carpathian from the second movie, its really creepy.

Are there any other games that employ that off-center 3rd person view? I can't think of any.
