*UPDATED* Activision Security Guards Show Up at Infinity Ward Offices
For Some Reason
by Coop

UPDATE 2: Vince Zampella, too, has updated his Linkedin profile. Infinity Ward is listed as a "past" position.
UPDATE: An SEC filing made this morning, sheds a little more light on the situation. In it, Activision cites a human resources investigation into "breaches of contract and insubordination by two senior employees at Infinity Ward." One such employee, apparently, is senior artist Jason West, who updated his Linkedin profile to list Infinity Ward as a previous employer and his Facebook with a message of "Jason West is drinking. Also, unemployed". We'll keep you posted.
G4TV is reporting on a strange disturbance at the Infinity Ward office this evening. Sources inside the Modern Warfare 2 developer have revealed that a number of Activision security guards have shown up, unannounced, outside of their offices. The men, described as "bouncer-types," refuse to give the reasoning for their appearance. Even more confusing is the fact that studio heads Vince Zampella and Jason West reportedly met with Bobby Kotick earlier today, and have not been seen since. It's impossible not to let the mind explode with completely unfounded, crazy explanations. Most involve Bobby Kotick smoking a cigar.
So far, that's all that's known. The Infinity Ward employees are fairly confused and "on edge," as I imagine anyone randomly approached by security guards would be. We'll keep you posted on this story, as what might be one of the strangest days in recent gaming history comes to a close. Let's just hope that, like the PlayStation 3 error, this problem sorts itself out nicely. Maybe it's just a Leap Year problem, who knows?

hey coop, i've got a bridge in brooklyn for sale. it's a nice piece of work.
Sorry, did you say something?
Publicity stunt.
The timing of this is, of course, very suspect, but Activision also filed a human resources report concerning "insubordination" at Infinity Ward, and I don't know if that's the kind of thing you can call "kiddingsies" on. Also, Bobby Kotick has never exactly been known for his sense of humor.
That said, if it is a stunt meant to take the attention away from Bad Company 2... good job, I guess?
ok, i'll concede that now this sounds more legit. i mean come on, the original story about bouncers showing up, and the people going missing... it all sounded a bit fishy. this sounds more like a real issue, but im not entirely convinced this isnt some big hoax yet.
