Blizzard Teases Game Announcement, Diablo III Confirmed?!

Blizzard design VP Rob Pardo has confirmed that his company is planning to announce a new title at this weekend’s Blizzard Worldwide Invitational in Paris. While he didn’t offer any hints or clues as to what the announcement could be, it goes without saying that Diablo is on the tip of every gamer’s tongue. However, Blizzard refusing a statement isn’t enough to stop speculation, and fansite DiabloII.net is ready to officially confirm that the announcement is, indeed, the long-awaited sequel to the 2000 Diablo II: Diablo III.
Citing insider sources, the website anticipates an official announcement this weekend, and seeing as Blizzard really only has 3 IPs and two of them already have announced sequels, I would think that Diablo III would be obvious. This, on top of the splash image that they have been teasing and the recent purchase of Diablo3.com from its previous owners, should be enough to confirm for anyone who wants some updated hacking and slashing.

If they announce this, I may have to hibernate for 3 years so that I can play SC2 and D3 at the exact same moment and die from a heart attack caused by sheer joy.

In b4 World of Starcraft. As much as DIII needs to come out, we all need Starcraft II first. Raccoon's right. I can't play Starcraft II and look up DIII rumors at the same time!
I don't think it will be Diablo III. For an announcement that huge, they'd wait for BlizzCon.

I have no idea what that is. They've been using the LOST numbers for each piece as well...Lost Vikings? I think they're trying to throw up a number of possibilities so that people will keep guessing until they announce a new series. That's what my money is on.

I believe that the purple thing is actually Grimace, one of the McDonalds gang. The new game centers around Grimaces insatiable desire for trans-fats and it's up to Morgan Spurlock to stop the Golden Arches Gang from harvesting obese humans. He only has 30 days to do stop them....
