E3 08: Fallout 3 to Have Exclusive DLC for Xbox and Windows
Take That Competitive Market!
by Coop
The first gameplay footage of Fallout 3 was shown during the Microsoft Press Conference earlier today, giving eager gamers a first look into the Post-Apocalyptic world crafted by Bethesda’s hands. As a showing of support for the Xbox Live Marketplace (and, I am sure, support of a fat check paid for by Microsoft), Bethesda revealed that the Xbox 360 and Games for Windows versions of Fallout 3 will feature downloadable content not available for any other version (See: PlayStation 3). No word yet on what the DLC will actually be, but Bethesda Executive Producer Todd Howard stated that it would be "substantial."
I’d love to draw some comparisons between this and Grand Theft Auto IV’s DLC, but seeing as Microsoft’s Press Conference is over, GTA has been out for months, and there still isn’t any sign of DLC I would like to think that Bethesda will be more punctual. Either way, this definitely should make the decision for anyone still bouncing around and trying to decide between the two versions. Gamervision has an interview with Bethesda later this week and we will ask for more information about this exciting news for Xbox 360 owners.
