Before the wheels on our plane had touched the ground I was refreshing Gamervision’s E3 blog, hoping to get a signal as HeyKidNiceRobot yelled at me about Wifi breaking airplanes. At the same time, I received a text message from Racoonacorn saying “How shitty is that Microsoft Conference.” I wasn’t too optimistic. But there it was:

"FINAL FANTASY XIII TRAILER. FINAL FANTASY XIII ON XBOX 360. THIS IS NOT A DRILL. OH MY GOD.
"

It was revealed during the press conference that Square Enix will be bringing Final Fantasy XIII to the Xbox 360 on the same day as the PlayStation 3 version. No timed exclusive, no exclusive downloadable content, no catch. Microsoft fanboys have a lot to smile about this E3, and this ranks high as one of the biggest announcements in recent E3 history. Not only does this mean that the Xbox 360 will be receiving one of its first huge RPGs, but that Sony has lost one of the last exclusives it had that drew people to the system. Sony has some catching up to do tomorrow morning during their Press Conference, because it is going to be hard to top this.
